5 Things to Consider Before Getting Injectables

Have you been considering a dermal filler or anti-wrinkle treatment, but you’d like to know more before booking in?  At Cavendish Clinic, we understand that you want to make an informed decision when it comes to your treatments, so we’ve put together a list of the most important factors for you to consider.

Choose your injector carefully

Selecting a highly-skilled and experienced injector is essential.  How long have they been injecting?  Do they have ‘before and after’ photos of their previous work they can share with you?

At Cavendish Clinic, all of our injectors are registered aesthetic doctors with many years of experience, so you can be rest-assured that you’re in safe hands.

Consultation is key

We truly believe that consultations are an important part of any injectable treatment process, during which time you and your injector can establish a treatment plan based on your individual requirements and goals, and ensure that you have had any questions you may have answered.

Which products do we use?

With so many products on the market, it’s important to know which brand and products are being used in treatments.  For our dermal filler treatment, our experts most commonly use products from the Juvederm range, as it’s FDA approved and made of hyaluronic acid (a naturally-occurring substance in the body that decreases as you age).

Post-treatment care

Depending on the type of injectable treatment you have, your post-treatment guidelines will differ slightly, however, your clinic should ensure that you receive the necessary information at or following your appointment.

Pricing

Don’t make the cheapest pricing your motivator to have a treatment.  Injectables can be costly due to the products used, and the experience of your injector.  That’s why we try to keep our pricing as competitive as possible.

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are injectable treatments made from Hyaluronic Acid used to restore lost volume for a more youthful appearance. Fillers can be used on the face to soften wrinkles and creases, restore fuller lips and even smooth out the skin on your hands.

Who should not get filler treatments?
  • If you are allergic to any of the components in the filler
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • If you take blood thinners or an immunosuppressant
  • Exercise caution if you have a history of severe scarring or have a pigmentation disorder
Are dermal filler injections painful?

Dermal fillers made with hyaluronic acid are mixed with lidocaine to help ease the discomfort, a topical anesthetic will be applied to the treatment area before injections to help ease the pain.

How much do dermal fillers cost?

The cost depends on a few factors including, type of product used, amount of product needed, and if the treatment area is classed as a speciality area such as tear trough or nose.  For cheek filler the cost would start from £400 for 1ml.  The best option would be to visit one of our Aesthetic Doctors who can assess your needs and give you a more accurate cost.

Are fillers right for me?

Many patients choose dermal fillers as the results are natural looking and long lasting – anywhere from four to 18 months. After a single treatment, deep lines and creases appear visibly reduced, while skin looks rejuvenated and refreshed.*

Popular uses include the nasolabial lines (nose to mouth creases), fine lines around the mouth, lip plumping and enhancement of the cheeks, temples, jawline and nose. Fillers can also be helpful in correcting facial asymmetry, or to soften the appearance of ageing hands.*

Our highly experienced doctors will talk you through the best options to counter the signs of ageing, whilst giving a natural, healthy-looking result to enhance facial features and subtly turn back the clock.*

What is the 8-point facelift?

The 8-point non-surgical facelift is a specialised procedure using dermal fillers to create an all over lifted effect. Using an advanced technique, eight specific areas of the face are targeted to restore volume and contours resulting in a refreshed, natural finish.*

Taking around an hour, the treatment incurs minimal downtime and patients can leave the clinic almost immediately. Results can last for up to 18 months and, combined with other effective non-invasive anti-ageing treatments, make it suitable for those who opt not to have surgery.*

I’m new to dermal fillers, is there a ‘cooling off’ period?

At Cavendish Clinic, we want to ensure that our customers fully understand their treatment of choice, including any risks, and that they have clear and realistic expectations of the results, particularly when it is their first time experiencing an injectable treatment.

Every customer will receive a complimentary consultation during which they can ask any questions they may have, and we also give a one week ‘cooling off’ period to empower any new customers to make informed decisions about their future treatments.

Cavendish believes in a 360 approach when it comes to skin health, so during this period we offer a complimentary Cavendish HydraFacial to refresh your complexion, and optimise the rejuvenating effects of your upcoming injectables treatment.
